Registration

Media UK is entirely free; there are no charges for registration.

Because we hate usernames and passwords as much as you do, we try to avoid them; so normally, registration for any of our services is as easy as clicking on a link we send you. We never give anyone else your email address.

Why you ought to register

  • Quicker posting of jobs - because we know you, we no longer hold any jobs you post in radio, television or publishing for manual checking: they go live instantly.
  • Better communication - when you edit our directory pages, we'll email you when your changes go live.
  • Access to our discussion area - it's a private place for great conversation about the media.
  • Free webmail, calendar, talk and start page - powered by Google with your own @mediauk.net email address.

Why you might not want to register

  • Everything on our website is available without registration, with the exception of our discussion area. You're not missing on any directory entries or information; you can still subscribe to our email services or edit the directory.
  • We don't help you register for the Daily Telegraph, or BBC News, or whatever - because you're only registering for Media UK.
  • We are a bit fussy about who registers: and, in order to help us, we insist on real names and identity-verifiable addresses. See below.

Important things to know

  • Real Names Only
Media UK discussions are self-policing and private. We require all users to register using their real names to view the discussions or take part.
  • Identity-Verifiable Email Addresses Only
Media UK discussions members must have an identity-verifiable email address. In many cases, using your work email address in conjunction with a corresponding real name will allow you access to this site. Hotmail, AOL, ISP or webmail addresses (like BT Openworld, or Yahoo, or whatever) are not verifiable. For more information, see our article on identity-verifiable addresses.
  • All registrations consitute acceptance of our privacy and terms and conditions statement. You are advised to read these carefully. Media UK is under no obligation to allow you to register, and will not enter into correspondence.
